Artillery Sidewinder X1 Mods: Extruder Ribbon Cable Strain Relief

3DN_SX1_EXT_Support_COVER
Early on when Artillery released the Sidewinder X1, Like a number of other users I had one of the machines in our studios display the behavior we all know now as "ribbon cable" related- Extruder clicking, erratic X-carriage movement, and even the LCD showing a -15 temperature reading. The reason was evident (after checking the Z pillar connection for integrity) it was at the extruder-to-cable connection. Of course the recommended fix is to reseat or swap the ribbon cable; pretty easy but I wasnt satisfied with the possibility of it happening again so I decided to fix it then, or at least experiment and come to a conclusion after a period of time. If your board has already been burnt, you must obviously replace that as well. I dont like replacing boards, and without a correction of some kind you are just setting yourself up for failure again. Dont.   I...

Artillery Announces A Smaller Model... Look out Prusa, Look Out Ender...

Artillery_Baby_Sidewinder-1
If the release of Artillery's Sidewinder X1 is any measure, the announcement (teaser really!) of a smaller format version should have people ready to pounce on this one.   Tracy Wang gave us some shots of the little beastie this morning. All thats been said so far is "220x220x250" and looking at the photos it appears all of the rock-god goodness for design we saw with the Sidewinder X1 is just being packaged smaller. This size and possible price point should probably have the other similar printers in that range a bit worried, especially if the ease of assembly and out of the box experience is the same as it's larger sibling.   Take a look at these:           As soon as we have more updated information, you bet we will be on it.   Enjoy!

Artillery Sidewinder X1 - This Printer Changes The Game...

STORE_Artillery_n1
Artillery's Sidewinder X1 is new to the market, but already it's demonstrating that a company can and does listen to what we in the 3D printing community need and want. Internally they arent new, employing people from other places, and it shows. We all learn from mistakes. We all strive to improve. It's in it's Gen III now, changes and improvements came well executed and at blinding speed.   Find out more by visiting our Artillery Section , Their Official Facebook Group , or just jump right in and get one through the 3D Nexus Store . (We have a special price going on in our own store for a limited time!)       Whatever magic brought these people together, it's impact over time will be nothing short of amazing if the printer we see right now is any indicator of things to come and other brands should take note-...
